Welcome to Antechamber Bay Retreats: two homestead getaways offering captivating views of Kangaroo Island's eastern shores.
Overlooking the dramatic vista of Backstairs Passage, Antechamber Bay is one of South Australia’s finest coastal havens. With expansive native bush and bountiful wildlife it’s a locale of rare seclusion and spectacle – all crowned by four unspoilt kilometres of white-sand beach.
Since 1999 the Gilfillan family have welcomed visitors to this cherished corner of Kangaroo Island - home to their 3500 acre working farm. Historically known as Creek Bay, the property was first settled in the 1820s by two great KI legends: English sealer and whaler Nat Thomas and his Tasmanian Aboriginal wife Betty.
With the privacy and comfort of two distinctive beach houses – Nat's and The Kona – you can share in Creek Bay’s unique heritage as South Australia's oldest continuous farming estate and a living slice of maritime history.
Both Nat's and The Kona offer everything you could want in a coastal retreat: spacious, welcoming accommodation; stunning views with intimate outdoor connections – plus the freedom to walk, swim and relax amid nature in a bay like no other.
Each property is fully self-contained, with contemporary kitchens and outdoor barbecue facilities.
